I’ve been seeing a lot of kissing going on lately. Stamp kissing that is!
For those of you who are yet unfamiliar with the stamp kissing technique, it is when you press, or “kiss” two stamps together. It’s usually done with one solid image and one more detailed or patterned image so that the solid image ends up with a fun pattern on it. I decided to give this technique a try on a thank you card for a new customer.
I kept the design pretty basic since this was my first attempt at kissing with stamps. I used the butterfly and polka dot images from the For All You Do stamp set.
I inked the butterfly image in Pool Party and the polka dot image in Melon Mambo and kissed the two stamps together. It resulted in a really cute patterned butterfly image which stamped beautifully onto the cardstock.
I used my Paper Snips to carefully cut out my butterflies and positioned them on my card. I used a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker to add little flight trails for the butterflies. The “thank you” sentiment, also from the For All You Do set, was stamped in Pool Party. I snipped one end of the sentiment panel to create a ribbon-ish look and popped it up on dimensionals for a little more depth.
I definitely enjoyed trying out the kiss technique. I’ve already got some ideas in my head for other ways I can use that technique on some other upcoming projects. We’ll see how those turn out.
